Board Of Education handles routine personnel matters

The Cleburne County Board of Education handled the routine business of hiring and transferring faculty and staff Monday afternoon during its monthly meeting.

The board unanimously approved:

— A maternity leave request for Pleasant Grove Elementary School teacher Jackie Blackwell from March 9 through the remainder of the 2017-18 school year.

— A maternity leave request for pre-K Auxiliary Teacher at Pleasant Grove Elementary School Sky Victorino from February 23 through April 10.

— A transfer request by physical education teacher Todd Gable at Fruithurst Elementary School to Cleburne County Elementary School effective February 6.

— The hire of Megan Hunt as a custodian at Fruithurst Elementary School.

— The hire of Rhonda Blissitt as a Special Education Paraprofessional for the school system.

The board also voted unanimously to declare surplus seven deep fat fryers which were used in the child nutrition program.

The next regular board meeting has been changed from Monday, March 5, to Tuesday March 6. It will be held at the Cleburne County High School at 4 p.m.
